Benkovic returns on loan
Filip Benkovic is coming back. AIK have signed the Croatian centre-back on loan for the rest of the season (1). He knows the club, he knows the league, and he slots straight into a defence that just kept a clean sheet against GAIS.
Bazdar deal almost done
AIK are closing in on Samed Bazdar from Real Zaragoza. Talks are well advanced and a four-year contract is on the table (2) (3). The striker would replace Erik Flataker, who was sold earlier in the window. Bazdar, 22, gives your attack a different profile, one the club have been chasing since Flataker left.
The bigger picture
Three wins on the bounce. A 2–0 home victory over GAIS in front of 27,000. Fourth place, 21 points from 13 games. Ayari and Filling are driving the attack, Matthys just made his debut from the bench, and now Benkovic adds steel at the back. The summer rebuild is taking shape.
