Csongvai leaves AIK for Saint-Étienne as Chourak favours Spain

Csongvai sold to Saint-Étienne, deal done

Áron Csongvai is gone. AIK have sold the midfielder/centre-back to AS Saint-Étienne with immediate effect, the clubs confirmed Wednesday evening (1) (2) (3). The fee lands in the 5–10 million kronor range (1).

AIK recruitment chief Miika Takkula did not hide the dynamic: "His strong performances in the AIK shirt gave him the chance for a transfer, an opportunity he wanted to take. We were able to finalize negotiations quickly, as Saint-Étienne showed themselves willing to pay a reasonable transfer fee" (3).

Csongvai had already played his last match for the club. You lose a starter midseason, two wins in a row or not.

Rayo Vallecano pushing for Chourak

AIK want Nassef Chourak, but the player has other ideas. Rayo Vallecano are pressing for the Kalmar FF talent, and Chourak sees the Spanish club as his first choice (4). AIK reportedly have terms ready. That counts for nothing if the player is looking elsewhere.
