Erik Flataker leaves AIK for Go Ahead Eagles

Flataker sold to Go Ahead Eagles

Erik Flataker is gone. AIK have sold the Norwegian striker to Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles. The deal was confirmed on Wednesday (2), with reports putting the fee around 10 million SEK (4). Flataker described himself as "allround, smart, and unpredictable" upon arrival (5).

The move leaves a gap up front. AIK are 11th in Allsvenskan, three points deep in the bottom half, with a squad already stretched thin. Twelve players were unavailable for the win against IFK Göteborg. Now one more is out the door permanently.

Andersson: "I know I'm a good footballer"

Victor Andersson sees an opening. With Bersant Celina and Zadok Yohanna already gone, and now Flataker sold, the 21-year-old midfielder spoke plainly about his chances. "I know I'm a good footballer, so I'm not that worried," he said (3).

He has reason to be calm. AIK made six changes last match. The depth chart is thinning fast, and Andersson knows it.

Fan reactions

AIK supporters are not panicking over the fee, roughly 10 million SEK for a striker who never fully cemented himself, but the timing stings. The squad was already paper-thin, and selling while sitting 11th raises questions about ambition. The main thread on the Flataker deal is here: r/AIK
