AIK's record-breaking sale of 18-year-old Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna to Brighton & Hove Albion has been confirmed, with the fee reported between 270 and 305 million Swedish kronor (around £21.5 million), the largest transfer in Nordic history. The teenager made only 18 senior appearances for AIK but attracted serious interest from Real Madrid and Newcastle before settling on the Premier League move. The deal delivers AIK a net windfall of roughly 130–170 million kronor, though recruitment chief Miika Takkula has stressed that the funds will not send the club's strategic planning off course. While the sale provides immediate financial relief amid a difficult stretch that leaves AIK tenth in the table, the club has already moved to lock down another rising talent, extending midfielder Stanley Wilson's contract through 2029.
