Anderlecht join elite HLN debate on future of Belgian football

Anderlecht were one of six top Belgian clubs who sat down with HLN for an exclusive debate on the future of Belgian football, tackling everything from a potential BeNeLiga merger to the so-called "Netflixisation" of the game. Club Brugge, Antwerp, Racing Genk, AA Gent, and Union also took part in the wide-ranging discussion. As HLN framed it, "In Europa brandt de lamp. Daar zit het grote geld, zelfs voor de clubs die géén Europees voetbal spelen", meaning the real money is in Europe, even for those not playing on the continent. The central question put to all six clubs was blunt: do we actually want to compete at the highest level anymore? (1)
