Camara cut from Senegal's World Cup squad
Anderlecht defender Ilay Camara has been dropped from Senegal's final 26-man squad for the World Cup. He was in the preliminary 28-player list but didn't survive the last cut by coach Pape Thiaw (1) (3) (4).
Sadio Mané headlines the squad while Camara and Paris FC's Moustapha Mbow were the two players excluded at the final hurdle (4). It's a tough blow for the 23-year-old, who misses out on a career-defining tournament.
Hatenboer's Telstar future up in the air
Anderlecht loanee Cedric Hatenboer faces an uncertain summer. His loan club Telstar is bracing for a challenging transfer window with several key players on expiring contracts, and manager Peter Hofstede is already discussing a major rebuild (2).
No decision has been confirmed on whether Hatenboer stays, returns to Anderlecht, or moves elsewhere.
