Derby finale, Van der Elst snub, Didillon-Hödl heroics

Derby day to close the season

Your season ends with a Brussels derby. Anderlecht travel to Union this weekend for the final match of the play-offs.

The table won't budge, you're locked into 4th place regardless of the result. But this is Union away, and it matters. A derby win to close out the campaign would give everyone something to hold onto heading into the summer. (2)

Van der Elst snubs Anderlecht completely

Franky Van der Elst picked his Pro League team of the season and left every Anderlecht player out. "Je komt er niet zomaar in, hè," he said, you don't just walk into this team. It's a brutal reflection of the season. Not one player in purple and white made a strong enough case over the full campaign. (1)

Didillon-Hödl the hero in Holland

Remember Thomas Didillon-Hödl? The former Anderlecht goalkeeper produced a night to remember as Willem II beat Volendam 5–4 on penalties after a 2–2 aggregate draw to clinch promotion back to the Eredivisie.

He scored from the spot himself and then made the saves that sent Willem II up. After 41 appearances for Anderlecht between 2018 and 2021, that's quite the career highlight. (3) (4)
