García linked, Taravel sounds off on mentality

Óscar García linked with Anderlecht job

Anderlecht have Óscar García in their sights as the next head coach, according to Dutch reports (3) (6). García is currently at Ajax, but Belgian interest could open the door for a move this summer. He would replace Jérémy Taravel, whose interim spell ends after the final game of the season.

Taravel: "Mentality is the biggest issue"

Outgoing interim coach Jérémy Taravel didn't hold back in a reflective interview. "I learned in three months what others learn in three years," he said, before pointing to mentality as the biggest area needing work at the club (1). His short stint was chaotic, but the diagnosis is clear: the squad needs a culture shift.

Pre-season friendly set against Sporting Hasselt

Anderlecht will face Sporting Hasselt in a pre-season friendly this summer (2). A low-key fixture, but one that gives the new manager, whoever that ends up being, an early look at the squad before the Europa League qualifiers kick off in late July.

Legal case around 2017 club sale stalls

The fraud trial tied to the 2017 sale of Anderlecht has ground to a halt this week due to a recusal motion (4). The case involves former figures Marc Coucke, Herman Van Holsbeeck, Jo Van Biesbroeck and agent Christophe Henrotay. Not something that affects the dressing room, but a lingering shadow over the boardroom.
