Sibierski presents summer plan, Hazard faces ban

Sibierski's €15–20m plan goes to the board Thursday

Sporting director Antoine Sibierski will present his summer transfer plan to the Anderlecht board on Thursday. The budget: between €15 and €20 million. (1)

It's the first real window where Sibierski can put his stamp on the squad, and the message he's been pushing is clear: mentaliteit en discipline are non-negotiable. After a fourth-place finish and that 5–1 derby collapse at Union on Sunday, the reset can't come soon enough.

Sibierski has talked openly about restoring standards at the club. Thursday's presentation will show whether the board backs that vision with cash. For a team that had no players in the analysts' league XI and just shipped five goals to close the campaign, the case for investment writes itself.

Hazard facing ban before he's even left

The Belgian FA's prosecutor is seeking a two-match suspension for Thorgan Hazard following his red card in the 5–1 defeat at Union Saint-Gilloise on Sunday. (2)

Hazard is set to leave Anderlecht this summer, so the ban would actually hit his new club, not yours. Still, it's a messy full stop to a spell that promised more than it delivered.
