Arsenal 2–1 Leeds, the second-half comeback
Arsenal 2–1 Leeds United at the Emirates on Saturday, and it was not comfortable. Mikel Arteta's side came from behind, and the win came after a late tactical change and a decisive contribution from the substitutes (3). One word for it: metal. That is what the Greek press wrote. "The win over Leeds came from the mentality Arteta has passed on to his Gunners," to10 wrote (2). You stay second, 15 points from six games, +5 goal difference, and you avoided a second straight league defeat after Brighton.
That Brighton game is still the wound. Brighton & Hove Albion 3–0 Arsenal at the Amex on September 19, your only loss in the last five. Everything since has been a response to it.
Bruno Guimarães scored his first Emirates goal
Bruno Guimarães got the winner against Leeds and he did not hide how much it meant. "It's an incredible feeling. In the last game against Brighton we were absolutely not at the level this shirt demands. Today the mentality was the right one to make up for it. For me it was my first official home game: scoring a goal that important and taking home three heavy points makes me really happy" (1).

He is not here to settle. He said he wants to win titles again (1). Six league games in and your new midfielder is already talking like that.
Hincapie's ankle could hurt Calafiori
Piero Hincapie reportedly picked up an ankle problem in the Leeds win (4). If he is out, the knock-on lands on Riccardo Calafiori: an absence there leaves Arsenal short at the back and puts more on Calafiori's legs (4). Lille at home on Tuesday, then Nottingham Forest away on Sunday, then Bayern in Munich on Wednesday, October 21. That is the run where a thin defence shows.
Three names Arsenal are watching
Arsenal are one of several Premier League clubs tracking Brentford right-back Michael Kayode, with Liverpool leading the race (6). Brentford do not want to sell in January and want more than €60m before they even talk (6).
Separately, Arsenal are interested in Ryan Augusto, the 19-year-old Brazil U20 right-back at Red Bull Brasil (7). He is seen as a top talent in the making (7).
And Bournemouth's Éli Junior Kroupi is on the list, with Barcelona also tracking the 20-year-old forward, valued at €100m. He has been out injured since the summer (8).
Wilshere on Wenger, Arteta and Hale End
Jack Wilshere, now Luton boss, was the guest on The Overlap and talked about Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, his own career and the next generation coming through at Hale End, including Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri (5).
Fan-reaktioner
Gunners are talking about Arteta's comments on Viktor, and specifically the line that the best way for a young player is to come on and show how good he is, the way he has already done with his national team. The mood in the thread is that he deserves minutes. Plenty are reading it as Arteta opening the door to more playing time sooner rather than later. Join the thread
