Arsenal thump City 3–0 to lift the Community Shield

Shield sealed with a 3–0 over City

Riccardo Calafiori, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard scored as Arsenal beat Manchester City 3–0 in the Community Shield (3). It was the 18th time Arsenal have lifted it, against the side who finished seven points behind you in the league (1) (2). Not a bad way to open a title defence.

Odegaard wants it all

Martin Odegaard did not hold back after full time. "We want to win everything," the captain said, adding that the side showed they are "ready, serious and want to do it again" (6). You go into the Coventry opener on Friday in that mood.

Napoli circling Martinelli and Jesus

Gabriel Martinelli was left out of the squad for the City game, and Napoli are now showing interest (5). Napoli also still want Gabriel Jesus, but that deal is stalled by financial issues (7). Nothing close on either front yet.
