Bruno Guimaraes deal agreed
Arsenal have agreed a fee with Newcastle for Bruno Guimaraes (4). The midfielder is the first major signing of the summer for the reigning champions. No figure has been confirmed publicly, but the deal takes one of Newcastle's key players to the Emirates. This one is done at club level.
Vinicius Jr: personal terms agreed, but Madrid digging in
Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Vinicius Junior, Fabrizio Romano reports (1). But the gap between that and a signed deal is still enormous.
Real Madrid do not want to sell. "It's going to be a difficult deal to do, there's no getting away from that," one source close to the talks said (2). The player himself ideally wants to stay and renew at the Bernabeu (2).

Conflicting reports on Vinicius
It gets messier. Spanish outlet Bernabeu Digital claims a total agreement exists between Vinicius Jr and Arsenal (5). Meanwhile, Sky Sports report that Real Madrid are open to letting the Brazilian leave (3).
But Globo Esporte say Madrid are preparing for him to stay and talks over a renewal continue (8). One possibility being floated: Vinicius waits it out and becomes a free agent in January (9).
Livramento also on the radar
Arsenal could go back to Newcastle for Tino Livramento (6). With the Guimaraes deal close, attention may now turn to the right-back. Just Arsenal report that interest could be revived this window.
Nwaneri valued at £50m
Arsenal have set an asking price of £50 million for Ethan Nwaneri (7). Marseille are among the clubs interested. That is serious money for the academy graduate, and it would represent a significant sale if any club meets the valuation.
Fan reactions
The mood is split. On the Arsenal subreddit, fans are cautiously optimistic about the Vinicius links. Sami Mokbel's assessment that Arsenal "believe they can pull it off" has been shared widely, but supporters note the long list of ifs and maybes first. Over on the Real Madrid subreddit, the personal terms reports have landed with some irritation, and Madrid fans are not convinced the Brazilian is actually leaving (source: r/Gunners, r/realmadrid).
