Dowman breaks Premier League record, champions held at Palace

Dowman rewrites the record books

Max Dowman became the youngest ever Premier League starter at 16 years and 144 days, lining up for the champions at Selhurst Park (2). The Arsenal academy gem already grabbed headlines in 2024 as the youngest player to feature for a Premier League club's U21 side in an EFL Trophy match. Now he has the senior record too. This one matters, not a late cameo, but a proper start for the champions. The kid belongs.

Champions held in season finale

Arsenal finished the title-winning campaign with a 0–0 draw at Crystal Palace (1) (3) (4). Gabriel Jesus had the best opportunities, three presentable chances went begging, leaving the champions unable to break the deadlock (3). The result hardly dampens the mood, but Jesus will want those back. Palace gave your team a guard of honour before kick-off, recognition of what Arsenal achieved this season (2).

22 years, over

Arsenal lifted the Premier League trophy for the first time since the Invincibles season of 2003/04 (5) (7). Mikel Arteta has delivered what Arsène Wenger, Unai Emery, and every player in between could not, the title is back in north London. City's era under Guardiola ended simultaneously, with the manager's departure confirmed on the final day (7) (8). Arsenal finished top on 82 points, playing 37 matches, with a +43 goal difference.

Fan reactions

Saka's post-match comments about hunting down the haters who went quiet have the fanbase buzzing, the energy in the r/Gunners thread is pure vindication (see thread). The guard of honour moment at Selhurst Park hit hard too, a visual payoff after two decades of waiting (see thread). Gooners are celebrating globally, with the "All of England is Red" thread capturing the collective release of finally saying it: champions.
