Arsenal made a verbal offer for Bruno Guimaraes
David Ornstein dropped the news: Arsenal have made a verbal offer for Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes (1). The bid came through intermediaries and was below £60m. Newcastle rejected it flatly and insist the 28-year-old is not for sale (1). Sandro Tonali is also on the radar, though that one looks even trickier (1).
Hincapie coming cheaper than expected
Piero Hincapie will cost Arsenal around £34.5m this summer (3). That is less than initially anticipated, which frees up budget elsewhere. The deal is not done, but the framework is there.

Tuchel: we need Saka desperately
