Guimaraes deal practically done
Arsenal are closing in on Bruno Guimaraes. The Newcastle midfielder is practically yours, with Fabrizio Romano confirming the deal is almost done (1) (3). He joins a midfield already stacked with Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Myles Lewis-Skelly. That is serious depth for a title defence.
Vinicius closer to Madrid stay
Bad news on the Vinicius front. The Brazilian is now likely to sign a new contract at Real Madrid (2). Arsenal believed they were well positioned to land him, but the only thing holding up that extension appears to have been resolved. Meanwhile, Vinicius has confirmed talks with Jose Mourinho, which suggests his camp is keeping options open (4).
