Saliba faces 5 months out as Trossard completes Besiktas move

Trossard gone, Besiktas deal done at €18m

Leandro Trossard has left Arsenal. The Belgian winger completed his move to Besiktas on Wednesday for a fee of around €18m (2) (4) (6) (7). Saliba: 'My back is gone', 4 to 5 months out

This is the news that will keep you up. William Saliba told Dayot Upamecano "my back is gone, my back is gone" before coming off injured for France (4) (9). Surgery is being considered. If he goes under the knife, the 25-year-old could miss four to five months (1) (3). That means a return deep into the autumn. France may call up Maxcence LaCroix as cover (3).

Henry on Trossard: 'Arsenal will miss him greatly'

Thierry Henry did not sugarcoat it. Speaking about the Trossard move, he called the departure a sad situation and said the Belgian's intelligence and composure made him invaluable. "He gave everything. Arsenal will miss him more than they realise," Henry said (14).

Gyokeres plus cash offered for Julian Alvarez

This one is ambitious. Arsenal have offered Viktor Gyokeres plus cash to Atletico Madrid for Julian Alvarez (6) (11). Barcelona are also in the race and reportedly ready to outbid you, with a meeting set for Sunday (7) (12). Atletico hold the cards.

Waddle says scrap the Bruno Guimaraes pursuit

Chris Waddle has told Arsenal to walk away from the Bruno Guimaraes deal. Three reasons, he says, though the specifics were not laid out in detail. Waddle added he was surprised the club were pursuing it at all (8) (13). Newcastle will not make it easy regardless.

Antonio Nusa also on the radar

Another winger. Arsenal are preparing an offer for Norwegian international Antonio Nusa (10) (15). The 21-year-old has been on the radar for some time. No formal bid yet, but the interest is concrete.
