Monaco thrashed 4–1 at Paris FC, Jardim praises Pedro

Monaco thrashed 4–1 at Paris FC

Monaco were battered 4–1 away to Paris FC in Ligue 1 on Saturday. A heavy defeat, no way around it. Antoine Kombouaré was blunt after the final whistle: "On gifle Monaco 4-1", we slapped Monaco 4–1 (2). There's no dressing this up. You shipped four to a side sitting mid-table and looked second-best across the pitch. The kind of result that stings into Monday morning.

Jardim compares Flamengo's Pedro to Berbatov

Former Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim has compared Flamengo striker Pedro to Dimitar Berbatov, the ex-Manchester United forward who also had a connection to Monaco through his playing career. Jardim said it was "a shame not to see him in the Seleção" (1). The comparison is high praise, Berbatov was one of the smoothest operators in the box, and Pedro has been linked with a European move. Worth filing away.
