Sangaré joins Elche, Greenwood links return

Sangaré sold to Elche

Elche have made Buba Sangaré's loan permanent, paying the €4.5 million buyout clause agreed when the defender moved to Spain (1) (2). Roma keep a 20% cut of any future profit and hold a right of first refusal if Elche decide to sell him on (1) (3). The 22-year-old has signed a deal running until 2031 (3).

It's the first confirmed outgoing of the summer window and lands ahead of the June 30 UEFA settlement deadline. Every euro counts right now, and this one is clean and early.

Greenwood links resurface

Mason Greenwood's name is circling again. Michael Carrick is reportedly planning to offload three Marseille players this summer, and Roma are named among the clubs interested (4). Manchester United would pocket a major windfall from any sale thanks to their own sell-on clause, so the financials are real.

Nothing is close, but after Donyell Malen arrived from the Premier League in January and instantly transformed the attack, you can see why another move like this would appeal.

Fan reactions

Supporters are calling Sangaré the first plusvalenza of the window and taking it as a good sign. The UEFA deadline is looming and money coming through the door early settles some nerves. The overall vibe is pragmatic: get the finances sorted, then focus on what really matters, giving Ranieri, Malen, and a newly committed Dybala the squad they deserve for next season.
