Ederson to United: done deal at €45m
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Manchester United reached a full agreement with Atalanta for Ederson. The deal is worth €45m and has been in place since May. The Brazilian midfielder is set to sign later this summer as United's first summer signing. (3)
Former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchison didn't hold back in his praise: "He's the player I thought Liverpool would have got when Fabinho left. Outstanding player." (4)
This one stings. Ederson has been the engine, a player who could dominate the middle of the park on his day. Giuntoli's first big task as sporting director is staring him in the face: how do you replace a midfielder of that calibre with €45m?

De Roon at peace ahead of World Cup
Marten de Roon heads into the World Cup with the Netherlands carrying zero ego.
"It's easy for me. If I play from minute one, great. If I don't play a single minute but we still deliver a fantastic performance, I'll enjoy it just as much. I want to experience this last tournament in the best and most enjoyable way," he said. (2)
De Roon also singled out Frenkie de Jong for praise, saying Dutch players "prefer to watch players like him." (1)
Classic De Roon, honest, self-aware, team-first. Whether Ronald Koeman uses him or not, he has earned the right to soak in every moment.
United also chasing Mateus Fernandes
While the Ederson deal is wrapped up, Manchester United have informed Sporting's Mateus Fernandes they are prepared to advance for him too, though with a transfer ceiling in place. (5) Atalanta had been linked with Fernandes earlier in the window, but that trail looks cold now.
