Austin FC's play-off push
Austin FC drew 0–0 at FC Dallas last time out, a fourth draw in seven games that keeps the club two points off the Western Conference play-off places with eight games left. Besard Sabovic was blunt about what has to change. "The season's ending soon, so we need to start winning if we're going to make it to the playoffs, which is everyone's goal," he said. Austin sit 12th in the West, a point behind San Diego FC, who arrive at Q2 Stadium on Sunday. San Diego drew 2–2 with Inter Miami and are winless in four, but they beat Austin 5–0 in May, the heaviest defeat in club history. Jon Gallagher put two of Austin's three shots on target past Dallas in his 200th MLS regular-season match.
