Managerial search hitting walls
The hunt for your next manager is not going to plan. Beşiktaş have approached multiple targets and the responses have not been positive (4). Football director Önder Özen has flown to Portugal in an attempt to convince Filipe Luis to take the job (1), but no breakthrough yet. The list of names is shrinking and frustration is building.
Trossard tops the left wing wishlist
Arsenal's Leandro Trossard is now the number one target for the left wing position (3). The club is so serious about filling that spot that management are traveling to England to finalize a deal (8). Big ambition, but landing a Premier League starter won't be cheap or easy.
Goalkeeper shortlist down to two
Beşiktaş have narrowed their search for a new number one: it's either Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga or Chelsea-owned Filip Jorgensen, currently at a different club (6). With Ersin Destanoğlu's contract running down, this is becoming a priority position.
Gedson return talk resurfaces
Former Beşiktaş midfielder Gedson Fernandes could be heading back to the Süper Lig, with multiple Turkish clubs circling (7). Spartak Moscow are also in the mix. He was a fan favorite, another reunion story to watch.
Jakirovic deal in jeopardy
Sergej Jakirovi is one of the names on Beşiktaş's managerial shortlist, but Hull City's promotion to the Premier League may complicate things (9). If Hull come calling with top-flight money and prestige, Beşiktaş could lose out.
