It is done. Morgan Rogers has signed for Chelsea from Aston Villa for £117 million, the biggest fee ever paid for a British player (1) (2) (5). The 23-year-old forward put pen to paper on a seven-year contract on Monday (6).
"For me, Chelsea are the biggest club in London and a club I've always admired since I was a kid," Rogers said. "I'm really excited about the project with the new manager, the players we've got and where the club is heading" (5) (9).
He goes straight into Xabi Alonso's squad as the marquee signing of the new era.
