Scott bid rejected as Bournemouth dig in

Bournemouth reject £64m Scott bid

Bournemouth have turned down Chelsea's £64m offer for Alex Scott. The midfielder wants the move, but the south-coast club are holding firm. Bournemouth have told Scott directly and informed all interested clubs that he is staying put. Arsenal, Manchester United, Spurs, and Manchester City all registered interest earlier in the window.

Scott pushes for the exit

Scott's head has been turned. Bournemouth offered him a new deal back in March, but talks have slowed since then and he is now keen to move on. Chelsea is his preferred destination. The 22-year-old sees his future at Stamford Bridge, even as Bournemouth insist he is not for sale.

Rogers arrives, but Alonso wants more

Morgan Rogers is through the door at £117m. He is the British record signing and your fourth summer addition. But Xabi Alonso is not done. The Scott pursuit shows Chelsea are still hunting aggressively in the midfield market with the new season approaching.

Fan reactions

Chelsea fans are split on the Scott pursuit. Plenty see the Bournemouth stance as posturing and expect the deal to get done, pointing to the £64m figure as proof of how serious the club are. Others are wary of getting dragged into another saga where the selling club simply refuses to budge. The mood on the Rogers signing is far more settled: that one is done, it is historic, and fans are already looking at who comes next.
