Dumfries passes Real Madrid medical, Koeman confirms
Denzel Dumfries is on the verge of joining Real Madrid. Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman let it slip to the press: "He passed the medical tests here. I don't know if the transfer is completely finalised, but if anyone deserves it, it's him." (1) (2)
Koeman couldn't resist a dig at his former club either: "Having said that, I would have preferred to see him play at Barcelona." (1)
For Inter fans, this one stings. Dumfries has been a key figure on the right flank, and losing him to Madrid leaves a gap that needs filling fast. The fee and contract details are still under wraps, but the medical is done – this is happening.
Netherlands fall to Algeria in friendly
Dumfries featured for the Netherlands in a 0–1 friendly defeat to Algeria. Not the send-off Dutch fans had in mind, and hardly the ideal lead-in to his Madrid unveiling. (1)
Fan reactions
The mood among Inter fans isn't all doom and gloom. While the Dumfries exit hurts, there's chatter about a potential incoming: reports claim Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel is edging closer to Inter, with a fee rumoured between €2m and €3m. Smart business if true. Read the discussion here.
