Youth title ends 14-year drought

Youth title ends 14-year drought

Your Under-19s are national champions. A 2–2 draw at Benfica's Seixal training ground was enough to seal the Campeonato Nacional de Juvenis, the club's first at this level since 2012 (1) (2).

Porto went into the second leg with a cushion and held their nerve. The draw means the title returns to the Dragão after more than a decade of waiting.

«This is the year of the Dragon»

The club didn't hold back on social media after the final whistle. "Este é o ano do Dragão", this is the year of the Dragon, was the message as the academy celebrated yet another title this season (3).

It caps a remarkable campaign for the youth setup, adding national silverware to what was already a productive year developing talent for the first team.

Fan-reaktioner

The mood is celebratory but characteristically Porto, fans are already framing this as proof that the Dragon's dominance is returning where it matters. The front page of O Jogo from 24 May is making the rounds, with supporters treating the youth title as a signal that the pipeline is back and the club's future is in its own hands.
