Berglund set to join as sporting director — and MFF's easy run is over

Berglund heading to MFF as sporting director

Big front-office news. Philip Berglund, 34, has resigned as head scout at Hammarby, and Expressen reports he's set to become sporting director at Malmö (1) (2) (4). Nothing confirmed yet, but the pieces add up. If it goes through, it's a real statement signing off the pitch. Berglund is one of the most respected scouts in Swedish football.

The easy part of the season is done

MFF sit top of Allsvenskan with ten points from four games. That's the good news. The less comfortable news: the opposition so far hasn't been the toughest (3). That changes now. Harder tests are coming, and this is where you find out what this squad is actually made of.

Haksabanovic and Vecchia: names to watch

Sead Haksabanovic was named player of the match against BK Häcken (5). Meanwhile, Vecchia got his chance after being dropped from the starting XI and responded with a mature take: "There are people who have it worse" (6). Both worth keeping an eye on as the schedule gets harder.
