Botheim sold to Viking
Erik Botheim is gone. Malmö FF have sold the striker to Norwegian champions Viking, with reports putting the fee up to 50 million kronor including bonuses (1) (2). Contract runs to 2030, and Botheim goes straight into Champions League football (5). He scored 10 goals and 3 assists in 19 Allsvenskan matches this season (5). "I will miss walking out to a full Eleda to the MFF anthem," he said in a statement (1). Sporting director Philip Berglund said the deal is good for Malmö and that the squad has strong alternatives up top (1).
Tufegdzic brothers signed from Valur
Two Icelandic brothers are coming in. Novak (born 2012) and Stefan Tufegdzic (born 2010) have left Valur for Malmö FF, registered with KSÍ on September 2 (6). Both got playing time in the Icelandic top flight this summer (6). Their father, Srdjan Tufegdzic, previously coached Valur (12).
The wingers MFF chased in the summer window
Ahmed Qasem was a loan target from Nashville SC, but that move fell through (8) (14). Malmö also sounded out Amor Layouni before the window closed (8) (14). Daniel Gudjohnsen was on the radar too and could have ended up at Arminia Bielefeld (14).

Malmö cash in on Hugo Larsson
Hugo Larsson has completed his move to Fulham, and Malmö FF get a cut through a sell-on clause, around 20 million kronor (13). Larsson himself is reportedly unhappy with how the move played out (13).
Jo Inge Berget is a free agent
Former MFF star Jo Inge Berget has terminated his contract with Sarpsborg 08 (15). The club's sporting director Hampus Andersson said the season has not worked out for either side and that Berget needs a place where he can be important again (15).
