Diego Garcia signs, Botheim backs manager chase, Rosengren tracked

Diego Garcia signs until 2029

Malmö FF have a new striker. Diego Garcia joins from CD Leganés on a contract through 2029 (1) (3). "I'm very happy to be here," Garcia said at the presentation (3). Sporting director Philip Berglund got the deal over the line on Friday. Garcia is brought in to strengthen the attack after a difficult spring, with Malmö sitting 9th in the table.

Botheim: 'Great if one of them comes'

Erik Botheim did not hide his feelings about the manager search. Asked about the two names linked to the job, Eirik Horneland and Gaute Helstrup, the striker said: "If one of them comes, it would be great" (2). The club's pursuit of Horneland has stalled, and contact has reportedly been made with Bodø/Glimt's Helstrup as an alternative. Botheim's comment is the closest thing to a public stamp of approval from inside the dressing room.

Rosengren confirms interest from Germany

Otto Rosengren has clubs watching. RB Leipzig, Hoffenheim, and Schalke have all registered interest in the Malmö midfielder, Rosengren confirmed on Friday (4). No concrete bids have landed yet. The 22-year-old is a regular starter and one of the brighter spots in Malmö's uneven start to the season.
