Helstrup's 4-3-3 and a Glimt-inspired MFF
The new man has spoken, and the message is clear: Malmö FF will look different. Gaute Helstrup unveiled his tactical blueprint on Thursday, a 4-3-3 with high pressing, blending Malmö's tradition with elements from Bodö/Glimt's philosophy (1) (3). "We'll take what has been here for many years and mix it with much of what Bodö/Glimt have stood for in recent years," Helstrup said (1). Sporting director Philip Berglund backed the shift: a back four, higher training intensity, and an aggressive press are the pillars (6).
More out than in this summer
It will not be a spending spree. Helstrup confirmed there will be no mass signings this summer (3). Berglund was even more direct: "We'll probably just have to dig where we stand" (6). More players out than in. Taha Ali, with six months left on his deal, has drawn interest (6).
Molde lead the race for Lövik
Molde are closing in on Mathias Lövik, and the Malmö FF link is wobbling. The Norwegian club are reportedly closest to signing the defender, with the fee around €3.5 million (5).

Eiriksdottir joins the women's team
Malmö FF's women's team have signed Icelandic forward Hlin Eiriksdottir from Leicester City. She brings WSL experience and returns to Swedish football. "There were too many things pointing toward Malmö FF for me not to choose it," Eiriksdottir said. "A huge, exciting club with great facilities. I like the way the team plays football" (2).
'No limitations'
Helstrup did not hold back on where he thinks this squad can go. Asked about Malmö FF's potential, he answered: "No limitations" (4).
