Karabelyov injury worry ahead of Helstrup's first match

Karabelyov leaves training after head collision

Yanis Karabelyov went down in training Thursday and did not return. The midfielder collided with a teammate and was seen on the sideline with an ice pack on his head (1).

Gaute Helstrup's first match in charge is Saturday against IFK Göteborg, and losing Karabelyov would sting. He has been a regular in the midfield.

Safety net stays for the Göteborg match

The administrative court sided with the police. Malmö FF appealed the order forcing a safety net in front of the standing section, but the court rejected it. The net remains for the IFK Göteborg fixture (2) (4).

Rösler skips Norway quarterfinal to rest for MFF

Colin Rösler is putting club before country. The Malmö defender said he will skip Norway's World Cup quarterfinal against England to prioritise sleep and recovery ahead of the Göteborg match (3).

"Min egen karriär viktigare än Norge i VM," Rösler said. My own career matters more than Norway at the World Cup.

Taha Ali back, Busanello still out

Some positive news from Thursday's session: Taha Ali trained with the squad after his injury layoff (1). Gabriel Busanello, however, was absent again.

Helstrup will need all the options he can get for his debut in the dugout.
