Kiese Thelin: my Malmö chapter was finished
Isaac Kiese Thelin has explained why he left Malmö FF for Japan and why he did not come back to Allsvenskan. "Mitt kapitel i Malmö var slut," he said.
He was clear that a Sweden move would always be measured against Malmö: "Går du till något annat i Sverige jämför du alltid det med Malmö, och det kommer inte att vara på samma nivå. Det hade känts konstigt att spela i ett annat lag i Sverige." He added: "Jag har fått göra så mycket kul där och fått så mycket känslor för Malmö, och mitt kapitel i Malmö var slut" (1).
He is now back in Europe at SV Ried (1). Malmö FF brought him back ahead of the 2022 season (3).

He thinks Malmö are on to something new
Kiese Thelin also had a word on where the club is heading. His read: "Jag tror att Malmö är inne på något nytt nu" (2) (3). A return to Malmö was never really on the table (3).
Portugal are training in Malmö
Portugal are holding a training session in Malmö, and the reaction from the city side was warm: "Glada att de vill komma hit" (4).
Ellborg on the Sunderland documentary
Melker Ellborg watched Sunderland's Netflix documentary on the way to joining the club, and it did not land well.
"I watched a few episodes on the way here for the first time. But it was quite tough environments then, so I felt it didn't give me much encouragement to watch the series. So, I haven't actually finished it yet. I should do it now that I know how much love," the goalkeeper said (5).
He was left out of Sunderland's Europa League squad (5).
