Kiese Thelin: leaving was the right call
Isaac Kiese Thelin has signed a two-year deal with SV Ried (1). The 34-year-old spent a year in the J-League with Urawa Red Diamonds before returning to Europe, and he is not second-guessing the Malmö exit.
"It was right to leave," he told Fotbollskanalen (2).
He also had interest from Allsvenskan clubs this summer. He shut it down himself. "I felt that Malmö was the last thing I did in Sweden, and it would feel strange to go somewhere else in Allsvenskan. So it was never an option" (7).
