Malmö FF look to hockey clubs for inspiration

Hockey lessons from Rögle and Skellefteå

Malmö FF chairman Anders Pålsson has been studying how SHL ice hockey clubs Rögle and Skellefteå operate, looking for ideas the football side can borrow. "We can't copy directly since we have a ball and they have a puck, but it's interesting how they work and how incredibly professional they've become," Pålsson says (1). With Malmö sitting 9th in Allsvenskan and a new head coach expected imminently, the chairman is clearly exploring every angle to turn things around.

Empty seats could cost you your season ticket

The club is considering blocking season ticket holders who repeatedly fail to show up at Eleda Stadion, a move aimed at reducing the number of empty seats on matchdays (2). No final decision has been made, but the policy would directly affect fans who hold tickets but don't attend. For a club trying to rebuild momentum under new leadership, a fuller stadium matters.
