Rosengren is out as CEO after less than a year
Jimmy Rosengren has quit as Malmö FF CEO, less than a year after he took the job (1)(5)(6)(7). The club announced it on Monday (1)(2)(5). His own explanation is blunt: he was hired to grow things, and the job turned into cutting costs.
"I have spent my whole adult life basically working successfully with making things grow and develop and increase turnover and increase everything," he said (1).
He does not feel misled. He says the club simply arrived at a different place than anyone could have planned for.

"By various reasons I came to a Malmö FF that ended up in a situation where we instead need to work with having increased control," he said. "No one could predict it that way, it is not that I feel cheated or anything like that, you just cannot see around corners" (4).
Söderström steps in
Niklas Söderström takes over as acting CEO (2)(3)(5)(6)(7). He has been at the club 18 years and is the current deputy CEO.
"After 18 years in the club and with a hard-beating MFF heart, I am proud and happy to get the trust as acting CEO. At the same time I am humble about the task," he said (2)(3)(5)(6)(7).
Söderström has also opened the door to taking the job permanently (5).
Rihter: this year's loss will be bigger than last year's record
Chairman Zlatko Rihter is not softening it. Last year's record loss was SEK 89m. This year will be worse (2)(4)(5).
"We have still not landed there yet and autumn is left. But as we have said, we will make a loss that is bigger than last year, I can flag that," Rihter said (2)(4).
One-off items may affect the final number, but the operating loss comes in higher than last year's 89m (4).
What it means for you
This is the club's second CEO change this year. Niclas Carlnén left for the Swedish FA in January and Rosengren replaced him (5)(6). Now he is gone too, and the books are heading the wrong way while you sit 7th on 33 points from 22 games.
On the pitch, Kalmar FF visit on Monday, October 12, then BK Häcken on Sunday, October 18 (Allsvenskan).
