City bid €120m for Enzo Fernandez as Savinho pushes for Spurs

City bid €120m for Enzo Fernandez

Maresca wants him. City have lodged a €120m bid for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, falling short of Chelsea's £120m valuation (1). The deadline is Friday at 5pm, and Maresca has asked the club to do everything possible to get it done. Chelsea's response is not yet known.

It is not the first time City have hunted in that midfield. They took Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea in summer 2023 for £25m plus £5m in add-ons (2). The Fernandez number shows how far that market has moved.

Savinho misses training after Tottenham request

Savinho skipped training, and it is tied to a transfer request from Tottenham (3). Your Brazilian winger wants the move. City fans will be watching this one closely.

Alvarez tops the striker list for rivals

Julian Alvarez is ranked the best available striker for Barcelona and Arsenal, ahead of Endrick and Victor Osimhen (4). Bad enough when he leaves, worse when he is the man your rivals covet.

Fan-reaktioner

City fans are split on the Fernandez pursuit. Plenty on the MCFC subreddit admit they do not love him, but the thinking is that under Maresca he would hit the ground running. Chelsea fans are having their own reaction, with one post labelling the bidding club "wankers with their feelers." Read more here.
