Cup defence starts at the Etihad
Manchester City begin their Carabao Cup title defence at home to Norwich City at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday (1) (3). Enzo Maresca is not planning to run the same eleven out again.
"Com certeza, teremos algumas mudanças, por diferentes motivos. Com a quantidade de jogos e lesões, os jogadores precisam de descanso. Vamos precisar deles em jogos importantes mais à frente," he said, which means changes are coming for different reasons, the number of games and injuries mean players need rest, and he will need them in bigger games further down the line (1).
Norwich arrive without Gabriel Forsyth, Mirko Topic, Ali Ahmed and Lucien Mahovo (1).

Fan reactions
The EFL Cup draw thread did the rounds, with City or Norwich paired with Brighton in the fourth round. On r/MCFC there was more talk about the derby weekend and Maresca's style than about Thursday's cup tie. The mood is good, five wins from five, and fans are enjoying it.
