Dias tempted by Real Madrid as Maresca deal nears

Real Madrid circling Ruben Dias

Real Madrid want Ruben Dias. Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast says the interest is real, and that the lure of Madrid "would be difficult to ignore for any player, not just him" (1). City do not want to lose the centre-back. But if Madrid get any hint that a deal is possible, they will push hard. This one is going to drag into the summer.

Maresca compensation deal close

City and Chelsea are nearing a settlement on Enzo Maresca's compensation (3). That would clear the last obstacle for Maresca to take over at the Etihad.

Akanji wants Inter stay

Manuel Akanji does not want to come back. After a season on loan under Cristian Chivu at Inter, the defender is clear: "Inter is a great school, a university that helps you grow in various aspects. I am very grateful to those who wanted me here, and I am happy to stay and win more with this coach" (2). City's defensive picture gets murkier if Dias also leaves.

Tonali leaning toward Spurs

Fabrizio Romano says Sandro Tonali's move to Tottenham is "on" despite reported City interest (5). Newcastle's midfielder looks set for north London, not Manchester.

Reijnders and Reis, two unknowns

Tijjani Reijnders faces an uncertain future under whoever takes charge (1). Meanwhile, Vitor Reis returns from his La Liga loan spell as what the BBC calls a "star in the making", but his role is up in the air until Maresca walks through the door (4).
