Next up is AEK Athens in the Champions League at the Etihad on Tuesday, 21:00 CEST. That is a quick turnaround.
Barcelona circling Cavan Sullivan
City have a pre-agreement for Cavan Sullivan. Barcelona are now working on a way to take him instead (3).
Nunes offered to Barcelona
Jorge Mendes has offered Matheus Nunes to Barcelona, according to Polish reports picked up from Spain (4). Nunes is valued at around €45 million. He is also on Maresca's injury list, so his week just got more complicated.
No Gakpo, Ndiaye instead
Liverpool rejected City's £80m bid for Cody Gakpo at the end of the summer window. Gakpo stayed at Anfield, stuck behind Bradley Barcola. City signed Iliman Ndiaye instead (1). A January renewal of the Gakpo chase looks unlikely.
Still ahead of Arsenal
Seven from seven, and City lead Arsenal in the title race despite the guilty verdict on 114 charges (6). That is the story of the season so far. The table does not ask how you got there.
