German coverage reports Bernstein calling for forced relegation, with City described as raging (3).
Soriano's defence: one false accusation
Ferran Soriano rejects the lot. In a leaked internal video to staff, the City Football Group director said: "The whole Premier League case against us is based on a single false accusation" (7).
Soriano also denies wrongdoing in the wider scandal, which followed nearly eight years of investigation (4).
The long contracts were the plan for a transfer ban

Haaland, Barcelona, United: the vultures are circling

The case followed Anderson and Guehi
Elliot Anderson and Marc Guehi were on international duty and the City case went with them. Thomas Tuchel said he had not discussed it with either of them. "Det har jeg ikke. Nu får jeg dårlig samvittighed, men det har jeg faktisk ikke, fordi jeg er kun fokuseret på alt, hvad vi skal håndtere her og forberedelsen af holdet," he said (12).
A press officer also blocked Tuchel from answering questions on the City case after that international window (11).

Fan reactions
The mood on r/MCFC splits between dread and defiance. One thread tells fans to stop stressing about what they cannot control and enjoy the Rayan Chekri news instead, while another insists this is only round one and points to City's 2024 high court win over the Premier League's ATP rules as proof the fight is not over. On r/soccer the focus is on the ruling document itself, with fans pulling out the lines about Abu Dhabi government assistance to sponsors "from time to time" and sponsorship values still climbing into 2018.
