The NEC elimination may cost José Luis Mendilibar his job. Olympiacos are reportedly considering removing the Spanish manager after the 2–1 extra-time defeat that ended the Champions League dream (5).
The third qualifying round exit sent the club to the Europa League instead. Greek media had already questioned whether Mendilibar alone should carry the blame for yet another early European exit.
Olympiacos eye Ligue 2 top scorer
Tofik Bentalab has Olympiacos interested. The Moroccan striker, top scorer in Ligue 2, is also tracked by Genoa, with Union Touarga and Troyes in the picture (3). More suitors could push the price up.
