A win built on the road, and a fanbase that showed up
Levadiakos 0–1 Olympiacos. A one-goal away win in Boeotia, and the story of the afternoon was in the stands as much as on the pitch: more than 2,500 Olympiacos fans filled the Levadiakos ground and turned an away trip into a home game (1)(5). That is the sixth matchday feeling the club has been missing. Seven points from four league games, sixth of 14, goal difference +1. It is not a title pace. It is, right now, a team that wins the games it should win and drops the ones it should not.
The pattern is the problem
Look at the last five in the league and you see the shape of the season. Asteras Tripoli 0–1 Olympiacos on August 30 (won), Volos NFC 1–1 Olympiacos on September 5 (drawn), Olympiacos 0–1 OFI Crete on September 12 (lost at home). Then two wins: Olympiacos 2–1 Jagiellonia Bialystok in the Europa League on September 16, and Levadiakos 0–1 Olympiacos this Sunday. The away form is solid. The home defeat to OFI is the outlier that keeps costing points. A side that cannot put away mid-table teams in Piraeus will not stay within touching distance of the top.
Where the squad is thinning
Dani García has left and signed for Atromitos as a free agent (2). That closes a chapter, but it also removes a body from a midfield that already relies on the same names week after week. The transfer gossip now links Olympiacos with Bailey and points to interest in Michailidis (6). Nothing done, nothing signed, but the direction is clear: the club is shopping. Winter will decide whether this squad has the depth to last a full calendar, or whether the summer window was the missed chance.
The second team, and a name that keeps coming back
Marko 2–0 Olympiacos B. Sempa scored the second goal, and he is now the second former Olympiacos player to find the net for Marko against the B team this season (3). That is a small detail with a loud echo. The academy is producing, but it is also feeding the rest of the league. When your own ex-players punish your reserves, the pipeline is working for everyone except the first team.
What to watch
The next test is the one that matters: can Olympiacos turn this away form into league points at home. Seven points from four games leaves no room for another OFI. The Europa League win over Jagiellonia Bialystok showed the squad can perform on a European night. Now it has to do it on a Super League Sunday, in front of its own crowd, without the away-day cushion. The table will tell you fast whether this is a team climbing or one stuck in sixth.
