Retsos returns, Giovanni's son signs
Olympiacos have announced two signings. Centre-back Dimitris Retsos is back at the club, and attacking midfielder Juliano Lobo de Oliveira, son of the legendary Giovanni, has also joined (1).
Retsos brings experience to a backline that needs stability ahead of the Champions League qualifier in the Netherlands. The Giovanni name carries weight in Piraeus, his father scored 40 goals in 129 appearances for Olympiacos in the early 2000s.
Nascimento loaned to Rio Ave
Diogo Nascimento has gone the other way. The 23-year-old midfielder joined Portuguese side Rio Ave on loan and has already started the season as a first-choice player (2). He arrived at Olympiacos with promise but never broke through.
