Osman gone, PAOK pay €9m for three years
Cedi Osman is leaving Panathinaikos for PAOK. A done deal at €9 million over three years (1) (3). That is a basketball rival getting your starting forward, and it stings.
PAOK are not done shopping in Athens. They are also chasing Vassilis Toliopoulos (1). Losing one key piece is bad. Losing two to the same rival is the kind of scenario that tests a front office.
Panathinaikos will now need to move in the market. The club is already planning how to fill the gap Osman leaves behind (2).
Fan reactions
The mood is mixed, but there is a bright spot. Fans on Reddit are celebrating the women's water polo team, who beat Niki Volou 17–1 in their first national league appearance in roughly 27 years. "Ready for promotion," one fan wrote. Read the thread here.
