Five wins out of five, and now the one that counts
Fifteen points from fifteen. Panathinaikos are top of the Super League on a five-game winning run that includes a 3–1 over PAOK and a 3–0 over Panetolikos, with a goal difference of +10. On Sunday they travel to Olympiacos. The first real test of the season arrives with the table already reading 1/14.
Kangwa chose the project, and said so out loud
Kings Kangwa is the signing that defined this week. He admitted he spoke to AEK in the summer before picking Panathinaikos: "Ναι, μίλησα με την ΑΕΚ. Αλλά ο λόγος που διάλεξα τον Παναθηναϊκό είναι επειδή μου άρεσε το πρότζεκτ" (1)(4)(5). He also talked up the Botanic project and president Alafouzos (5), and framed the derby in the terms a supporter wants to hear, suffering together before enjoying the good moments (15).
That is a player who understands the assignment. Whether he understands what Olympiacos away feels like is a different question. Sunday answers it.

Garcia is the fitness call that shapes everything
Levi Garcia came back from the national team injured but still made the squad for the derby (3). That is the whole tactical storyline now: do you start him, or do you go with Vicente Taborda in the same position? Taborda is not a downgrade, he is a different player, and the choice reveals how Jakob Nistrup wants to play this one (3). Nikos Athanasiou put it plainly, saying Nistrup's decision on Garcia will decide the match (10). The club has been waiting through a long international break, and broadcaster Apostolakis came out of it saying Panathinaikos look ready for a title fight while warning against judging Imanol too quickly (12).
Meanwhile, the academy keeps winning
The K19 side beat Olympiacos 2–0 at Renti in the youth derby and stayed top with five wins from five (2)(9). It is not the story of the week, but it is the quietest argument that this club is building something deeper than one good autumn. The K15 side lost 1–3 at home to Olympiacos in the same round (6). Some weeks the pipeline produces, some weeks it concedes three.
What to watch next
Olympiacos away on Sunday is the game that tells you what this team actually is. After that comes Borac Banja Luka at home in the Conference League on Thursday, then Asteras Tripoli at home on Sunday, before trips to Kairat Almaty and Volos.
Start with Garcia. If he plays and takes the derby, Panathinaikos leave with more than three points. If Taborda starts, watch how the attack builds without him. Either way, Kangwa gets his first derby in green, and top spot stops being a formality and becomes a claim.
