Panathinaikos BC files complaint over Bartzokas insults
Panathinaikos BC has publicly released video footage and filed a formal complaint against Olympiacos coach Giorgos Bartzokas, accusing him of vulgar insults directed at fans and a club executive after Game 2 of the Stoiximan GBL finals. "Will the authorities see this or will he remain unpunished?" the club asked in a statement (1).
The club also filed a separate complaint against Bartzokas and N. Lepeniotis for defamation, targeting, and insults, declaring "enough is enough" (2).
Olympiacos fires back with Giannakopoulos video
Olympiacos responded by publishing its own video featuring Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos, captioning it "The influencer in action..." (3). Olympiacos is formally requesting a two-year stadium ban and a €100,000 fine against Giannakopoulos, along with sanctions against the club itself (4).
Escalating tensions off the court
These tit-for-tat complaints mark a sharp escalation between the two rivals with the finals series underway. The hostility is now playing out through video releases, formal complaints, and public statements from both sides, overshadowing the basketball itself.
