Panathinaikos chase 5/5 at Kalamata without Vicente Taborda

Kalamata away, and 5/5 is on the line

Panathinaikos are the only team in the Stoiximan Super League with a perfect record (1). Four games, four wins. You go to Kalamata on Sunday, 18:30 CEST, to make it five from five before the international break (1).

The table backs it up: first of 14, 12 points, +9 goal difference. The last three league games were 3–1 over PAOK, 3–1 over Kifisia and 3–0 against Panetolikos. No slip in any of them.

Kalamata host at Nikaia, and it is one of the more interesting fixtures of round 5 (1). Your team has dropped points once in the last five, the 2–2 at home to PAOK back in May.

Taborda is out, Tsirivella and Salah-Eddine are back

Vicente Taborda, your top scorer, misses the Kalamata trip through injury (1) (2). That is the attacking line taking a hit right when the run matters.

The good news: Tsirivella and Salah-Eddine are both available again (2). Jakob Nistrup is in the squad picture too (2).

Fan reactions

The mood on the PAOK subreddit was all about pride after the 87–81 basketball loss, with one thread praising the team and the coach for the effort against Panathinaikos and calling the future bright. Several posters argued the result would have gone differently without the absences. Read the thread
