Two goalkeepers on Nistrup's shortlist
Panathinaikos are hunting a new starting goalkeeper and two names are on the table: Iñaki Peña (Barcelona) and Diant Ramaj (Dortmund) (1). Head coach Jakob Nistrup wants one of them as his number one, with Kotsaris and Chaves not seen as the answer for that role (1). Both targets are under contract at major European clubs. This will not be a cheap deal.
Who is Iñaki Peña
Peña, 25, spent this season on loan at Elche from Barcelona. He has also had spells at Galatasaray and Heidenheim (2). His Barcelona contract runs until 2028, with a release clause set at €400m (2). That figure is a formality. Barcelona are expected to negotiate at a realistic level this summer. Peña came through La Masia and wore the number 13 shirt, previously held by Valverde and later given meaning under Xavi and Flick (2). He wants to play, not sit.
Fan reactions
