The week PAOK decided the derby is the answer
PAOK lost 3–1 at Panathinaikos on Sunday, September 6. Then the coach and his players sat in a room for over an hour (4). Alezio Lissi did not send them home. That is the whole week in one line. A defeat that hurt, a long conversation, and a home derby now carrying the weight of the season.
The reaction has to happen on the pitch

PAOK beat Levadiakos 4–0 at home on August 23 and won 2–1 at Atromitos on August 30. Then came the 3–1 at the Olympic Stadium (fact sheet). A team with two comfortable wins and one collapse away from home is not in crisis. It is inconsistent, and inconsistency in September becomes a fight for fourth in April.

Lissi's job now is to make sure the hour-long meeting was not the only response. The club's own message went further than tactics, asking supporters to fill the Toumba and protect the team (1) (6). When a club issues that kind of call before a league game in September, the sporting argument is not carrying itself.
The one thing PAOK cannot survive
Aris at home is the fixture the whole organisation is pointing at (8) (9). Not because the table demands it yet, but because the atmosphere around the club does not tolerate another stumble (8).
There is a version of this where PAOK win comfortably and the Panathinaikos match becomes a footnote. The squad is good enough for that. But the talk this week has been about pressure and atmosphere rather than the football, and that is rarely a good sign for the football.
Meanwhile, the under-19s showed the first team the way
PAOK K19 beat Aris 3–0 in the Super League K19, with goals from Aretis, Gioka and Souvlatzis (3) (5). It followed two defeats to open the season, and the win came once the players began finding their rhythm and confidence again (5). Same opponent, same weekend, same badge. The senior side could do worse than copy the script.
What to watch
Aris at the Toumba, Sunday September 13, 20:00 CEST. Then Panetolikos away on September 20. Win the derby and PAOK are back in the top group with the mood reset. Drop points and the club's own language, must win, becomes the story of the autumn (8) (9).
