The result that broke the week
PAOK lost 1–3 at home to Kalamata on October 12, their second defeat in five league games and the first time this season Toumba has booed a winning formula. Fourth place, 12 points from six, goal difference +5. Those numbers are not a crisis. The manner of that Monday was. Alessio Lisi said it himself: "We clearly have to change things" (14). He also called it "a difficult week, because of our own mistakes" (13). No deflection, no referee, no schedule.
The coach knows where the fault line is
What I like about Lisi's week is that he did not hide behind the calendar. He said PAOK "worked a great deal" on the Iraklis game and expects it to be "very difficult" (13), then added the line that matters more: "We are not blind, we have to fight for the win" (19). That is a coach talking about intensity, not tactics. A team that has scored in every away game this season (2–1 at Atromitos, 3–1 at Panetolikos on September 20) and then shipped three at home to Kalamata has a concentration problem, not a quality problem.
Ugresic has already said the quiet part
Ognjen Ugresic turned 20 and spent two months in Thessaloniki, and he is the one setting the terms: "We absolutely have to win this game" against Iraklis, with the title as the stated goal (6). He also credited Andrija Zivkovic with helping him settle (16). Meanwhile the history is loaded. PAOK have won 28 of 53 home league meetings with Iraklis (10). A derby record that one-sided is a burden as much as a comfort, because the only outcome anyone remembers is the one that breaks it.
What the rest of the club got right
Look down the ladder and the week reads differently. The women's team made it three wins from three, 3–0 away at Volos, without ever being stretched (2) (3). The U15s won 0–3 at Iraklis on Sunday morning, Konstantinidis opening the scoring in the fifth minute after Nisioutis's shot was parried (1) (18). The K14 beat Akademia Zagoraki 4–1 and dedicated the win to injured team-mate Haris Kalfas (15). PAOK B host Apollon Kalamaria on Monday, with Nikolaoulis and Beleris in the squad but their involvement depending on first-team needs (17). The academy is producing. The first team is the one with the problem.
What to watch
Iraklis at Toumba on Sunday at 20:00, then OFI away on October 25. Two fixtures that decide whether this autumn reads as a wobble or a pattern. Watch the first 20 minutes. If PAOK press high and Ugresic controls the middle, the Kalamata game was an accident. If Toumba goes quiet early, Lisi's "change things" line becomes an ultimatum.
