Vini saves Brazil in World Cup opener
Vinícius Júnior scored a stunning equalizer as Brazil drew 1–1 with Morocco in their World Cup opener on Saturday. Morocco took the lead through Ismael Saibari, assisted by Brahim Diaz, before Vini pulled Brazil level with what Brazilian commentators called a moment of pure individual brilliance.
"You wanted the Real Madrid Vinícius Jr? There he is," said André Rizek, praising him for saving manager Carlo Ancelotti from a difficult World Cup debut (10). Vini was later named Man of the Match but was honest about his performance: "I scored, but I wasn't 100% technically. I believe I can improve a lot and help more in attack" (11).
Endrick left on the bench
